At present, quartz sand is often classified into the following categories in industry: ordinary quartz sand, refined quartz sand, high-purity quartz sand, fused quartz sand, and Silica micro-powder.

• Ordinary quartz sand is produced by crushing, washing, drying, and double screening of natural quartz mine, with a silica content of 90% to 99%. Due to its high density and mechanical strength, it finds applications in industries such as metallurgy, water treatment, glass, enamel, chemicals, and sandblasting.

• Refined quartz sand is made by precision processing of high-quality natural quartz sand, often involving acid washing. Its main uses include glass, refractory materials, metallurgy, ceramics, grinding materials, quartz slabs, etc.

• High-purity quartz sand refers to quartz sand with a silica content of over 99.5% and an iron oxide content of below 0.0001%. Its high purity makes it suitable for high-tech industries such as fiber optics, solar cells, semiconductors, precision optical instruments, and aerospace.

• Fused quartz sand, a non-crystalline form of SiO2, is a type of glass with a long-range disordered atomic structure. It features good thermal stability, high purity, stable chemical properties, uniform particle distribution, and a thermal expansion rate close to zero. It is widely used as a filler in the chemical industry, such as in coatings and paints, and as a primary raw material in industries such as epoxy resin casting, electronic sealing materials, casting materials, refractory materials, and ceramic glass.

• Silica micro-powder is produced from crystalline quartz and fused quartz through processes such as grinding, precision grading, impurity removal, and high-temperature spheroidization. It is a non-toxic, odourless, and pollution-free silica powder with excellent properties such as high heat resistance, high insulation, low linear expansion coefficient, and good thermal conductivity.
